The Graduate Visa “Temporary Graduate Visa” (Subclass 485) is one of the most requested options by international students recently graduated from an Australian educational institution registered in CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students), under 50 years of years old and who want to stay in the country for some time more. With this visa, the newly graduated will be able to live in Australia and work full-time (full time).
The visa has two options: the first one is to have recently graduated from an occupation relevant to Australia that is on the Skilled Occupation List. The second option is to have finished a career at an Australian university.
The “Temporary Graduate Visa” allows you and your partner to work (if applicable) for a period of 18, 24 (2 years) or 48 months (4 years) and full time. These times depend on your previous studies in Australia. For example:
👉🏼If the applicant is recently graduated from an occupation relevant to Australia (accountant, repairer of boats, carpenter, among others) he will have a visa for 18 months.
👉🏼If the applicant is recently graduated from an Australian university and took an undergraduate or postgraduate course, he will have a visa of 2 or 4 years, equivalent to the years studied.
